DVDFab All-in-One is a powerful DVD and Blu-ray utility program that combines an assortment of DVDFab products to provide an all-in-one multifunctional multimedia tool. Whether you're copying or ripping DVD or Blu-ray content, converting between formats or transferring files, DVDFab has you covered. The software is available for free download.

A Convenient Multimedia Tool

Whether you're on a day off or simply have some time to spare, watching DVDs and Blu-rays is something that a lot of people enjoy. Tantamount to the experience of watching them is preparing them, which often involves lengthy conversion processes or the need to download a bunch of different programs for the task. This is where DVDFab All-in-One simplifies things. Rather than having to deal with the hassle of juggling multiple programs, All-in-One allows you to complete all of your DVD and Blu-ray copying, creating and converting all in one place.

User Interface and Menus

After a short installation process, as well as a reboot, you can get started with the software. The user interface and menus are fairly easy to navigate when you first open the program. At the top of the screen are several tabs to copy, rip, convert or create multimedia content. Clicking one of these will bring up a separate set of menus specific to that function. For those unfamiliar with multimedia: copying is used to copy a multimedia file on to a disc; ripping is copying a file from a disc or other source on to your hard drive; converting is used to convert a file (e.g. wav, mp4) into another format for playback on certain devices; creating is used to create a DVD.

The range of tools include the DVD Ripper, DVD to Blu-ray Converter, Blu-ray Copy, Blu-ray Ripper, Video Converter, 2D to 3D Converter, DVD Creator, Blu-ray Creator, and File Transfer. Since each once existed as a separate piece of software, each of their functions have been effectively and easily integrated into the interface for this program with little modification.

A drop down menu in the top right has a set of 'Common Settings' used for modifying languages, network settings, sound, previews as well as process-specific settings for DVDs, Blu-rays and conversions. Menus are all laid out in a compact way and options are easy to navigate. If there are any aspects of the software that you are unsure about, the Online Forum and Help sections are sure to provide the answer, containing a whole range of topics posted by thousands of different users.

Using the Software

One thing which impressed me from the outset was the software's speed and excellent copying quality. The software effectively allows you to bypass all copyright and anti-copy safeguards encoded into software like CPRM or RipGuard, so that you can pretty much copy anything you want, anytime you want. This gives a tremendous amount of freedom to the user, since they never come up against any compatilbility issues. Once copied/ converted, your files' quality and resolution is also preserved.

When you are ready to use one of the program's many tools, click on the menu of choice. A "+" button in the center will let you add media from your hard drive. You can also drag and drop files into place. For the Ripper function ISO files are used. From here you can start the process after a step-by-step guide offered within the program. Regardless of what you are copying or which process is underway, the entire process generally does not take longer than 20 minutes, which by all accounts is pretty fast and highly convenient. A preview window will also show you the projected quality of your video at various stages.

Once the process is completed, you can edit the content even further to correct streaming errors, clip contents, change the title order and much more, all to suit your particular needs. DVDFab will also let you copy scratched or damaged discs, and use the “customize” or “full movie” mode to copy the contents of ISO files that can’t be read on any player. It also includes a powerful tool that will be able to recover VOB files (files on disc that contain video, audio, subtitles and menus) when there are reading errors.

The Verdict

Whether a novice or an expert with multimedia software, if you are a regular consumer of DVDs, Blu-rays or other such content, DVDFab All-In-One will answer all of multimedia needs. Copy files on to DVDs or rip files from them, bypass copying safeguards, convert files into other readable formats such as mp4, or create your own DVDs or Blu-rays with supplied files. Utilize one of nine unique tools for DVD and Blu-ray ripping, copying and converting. The software is quick to download, has a compact, intuitive user interface and even has an integrated Help section as well as an online forum should you encounter any issues. All in all, it's a great all-in-one multimedia toolkit and a great program to download for anyone who regularly watches DVDs and Blu-rays.
