World of Warcraft for Minecraft
The Crafting Azeroth project has dedicated months to completely rebuild the two main continents of the WoW world, using Minecraft blocks. They have managed to recreate Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms with great attention to detail, and the result is impressive. You’ll find extended maps in which you’ll see the main cities, key places, towns, paths, caves, forests, rivers, islands and nooks, as well as every construction or structure.
To be able to recreate World of Warcraft in Minecraft, the Rumsey developer has used an effective 3D modeling technique, called voxelization. Basically, what they did was scan the extensive Azeroth lands and rebuild them with all details, using Minecraft materials. That way they generated a map with an extension of over 275 square kilometers, made up of 68 million blocks.
To be able to play WoW with Minecraft using this mod, the first thing you have to do is download it to your computer; bear in mind that once it´s decompressed, it uses up almost 24 GB, so you must make sure you have enough space. The installer from this page automatically carries out the download and decompression, so you don’t need to worry about any difficulty. Once the download is finished, you’ll have to move the files to the Minecraft installation folder, and you’ll be ready to connect to the incredible Azeroth world.
