Complete and powerful file decompressor for Mac
- Compatibility with many formats
- Decompresses several files at once
- Easy to use
- Nothing to complain about here
The Unarchiver is a program for Mac OS X, with which you can decompress files quickly and easily. You can also decompress more than one file at a time.
Couldn’t be simpler
The program has an "interface", so to speak, which is basically non-existent: all you see is a progress window on decompression of the file. And it’s so easy to use: just click on the file you want to decompress, and drag it to the The Unarchiver icon; the program automatically starts the decompression process.
Despite the stripped-back interface, The Unarchiver has a large menu of configuration options: you can configure to choose which folder the unzipped files are saved to (in the same folder as the compressed file, in a different one, etc.); also if you want to directly open the folder after extracting the files; as well as send the compressed file to the recycle bin at the end of decompression.
You can also choose which formats want the program you to open by default.
Compatible with a ton of formats
The program supports lots of different compressed formats; the list is really long, and among some of the formats that can work are the RAR, 7-ZIP, ZIP, TAR, GZIP and BZIP2, BIN, AC, and many more.
In short, The Unarchiver is a very practical and effective program, with an uncomplicated interface, yet hundreds of options.
