The modern game of chess has been played for more than 500 years, so it’s no wonder that it’s still in high demand and has be transcribed in computer language. Stockfish is an open-source chess engine that can be used by developers to enhance their own technological products.

The famous program is ranked highly around the world. The code is largely written in C++, but has otherwise been transcribed for Windows, Mac and Linux. Using the Universal Chess Interface, the engine can communicate with a wide-range of computer architecture. The application is developed on a public distributed testing framework, and comes in conjunction with the Internet Chess Club interface software BlitzIn and Dasher.
